Critical Conversations on Researching, Teaching, Writing and Thriving in the Discipline of Chicana/o/x Studies

The cluster participants are interested in having bi-weekly discussions on the various issues in researching, teaching, writing and thriving in the discipline of Chicana/o/x Studies. All participants have been trained and obtained graduate degrees in mainstream disciplines—Social Psychology, American Studies, Theater and Performance, Sociology, and Anthropology. The research expertise of the participants, however, sits squarely within the discipline of Chicana/o/x Studies. The challenge for all participants has been to translate their training to fit their teaching when they are practicing directly rather than indirectly in their chosen discipline.
