Jessica Santana

Current Project: As part of the INSPIRE program at UC Santa Barbara, Santana is extending her research on entrepreneurial recovery by investigating how social networks influence resilience and adaptation after failure.

Professor Santana’s research examines how entrepreneurs navigate stigma following startup failure, with particular attention to the role of peers, rhetoric, and social networks in the recovery process. She also studies the relationship between innovation and ethics in emerging fields such as synthetic biology, clinical trials, and cryptocurrency crowdfunding.
