Dr. Loaciciga's research focuses on Hydrology, specifically groundwater hydrology, hydrogeology, water resources, and applied mathematics. He utilizes numerical, statistical, and field methods to problem solve the interactions between humans, groundwater, and surface water.

His current research examines the structure and management of the water supply system in the city of Santa Barbara.
