Tracey Goss

With over a decade of service and leadership at UC Santa Barbara, Tracey Goss has become the backbone of operations at the Chicano Studies Institute (CSI) and the Center for Black Studies Research (CBSR). As Management Services Officer (MSO), Tracey supports two research centers and coordinates a wide range of efforts—managing budgets, training staff, supporting faculty, and mentoring students with her signature professionalism and generosity.

Her ability to adapt seamlessly between units, engage with departments and deans’ offices, and support first-generation scholars has earned her admiration across the university. Tracey's work goes beyond administration—she mentors, guides, and empowers those around her. She is praised not only for her strategic expertise in financial planning, risk management, and project coordination, but also for her warmth and steady presence.

We are thrilled to recognize Tracey Goss as the recipient of the 2024–2025 UCSB Staff Citation of Excellence Award—a well-deserved honor that reflects her exceptional contributions to the university.
