UC Santa Barbara

On December 1–2, UCSB will host the UC-wide Latinx Leadership Summit in collaboration with the Chicanx/Latinx Advisory Council (CLAC). This annual gathering centers Latinx equity in higher education and builds space for UC faculty and staff to share practices, support one another, and strategize for inclusive leadership and representation across campuses.

The UC Chicanx/Latinx Advisory Council (CLAC) supports UC’s equity goals by strengthening Chicanx/Latinx representation across all campuses. Convened by the Vice Provost for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, CLAC advises systemwide leadership on how to expand access to leadership roles, improve student recruitment and retention, and increase faculty and staff diversity.

The Council includes faculty and staff from each UC campus, along with student and alumni representatives. Members serve two-year terms and contribute to efforts that position UC as a national leader in Chicanx/Latinx advancement in higher education.
