UC-Wide Chicanx/Latinx Leadership Virtual Summit

Event Description:

On December 2 at Mosher Alumni (2nd floor), UC Santa Barbara will host a UCSB Watch Party for the UC-Wide Chicanx/Latinx Leadership Summit, held in collaboration with the UC Chicanx/Latino Advisory Council (CLAC). This annual gathering centers Latinx equity across the University of California System and offers a space for faculty, staff, and students to share their experiences and strategize for inclusive leadership and representation.

This year's virtual summit features keynote speaker Jose Hernandez, UC Regent, astronaut, and proud UCSB Alum, along UC leaders who will address Latinx leadership, institutional change, and pathways into academic and administrative roles. 

UCSB attendess are invited to join a communal watch party where the summit will be streamed followed by lunch and a discussion. 

The event is hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, HSI initiatives, Chicano Studies Institute, and Strengthening Opportunities for Latinx alongside the UC Office of the President.

Event Itinerary: 

8:30-9:00am: Coffee, Conchas, and Conversation

9:00-9:30am: Keynote Speaker

9:30-10:00am: An Examination of Latinx Leadership Across the UC System

10:00-10:15am: Break

10:15-11:20am: Concurrent Sessions

11:20-11:30am: Break

11:30-12:00pm: Awards and Closing Remarks

12:00-1:00pm: Lunch and post-summit discussion
