Summer 2025 Faculty Writing Retreat

Join UCSB’s Write on Site (WOS) community for a one-day writing retreat designed to help faculty make meaningful progress on their writing goals in a supportive, focused environment. This event is open to all UCSB faculty, and participants are welcome to attend for the full day or join individual sessions.

Schedule Overview:

  • 8:30 AM – Breakfast

  • 9:00 AM – Welcome & Writing Tools

  • 9:15 AM – Writing Block 1

  • 10:30 AM – Check-In & Break

  • 10:40 AM – Writing Block 2

  • 12:00 PM – Lunch & Optional Walk

  • 1:00 PM – Writing Block 3

  • 2:30 PM – Check-In & Break

  • 2:40 PM – Writing Block 4

  • 4:00 PM – Adjourn

Write on Site provides structured, social spaces where faculty can focus on writing projects—such as articles, proposals, grants, or revisions—without distractions. These retreats prioritize progress and peer support, not service tasks like grading or reports.
