Cultivating Comunidad: HSI Research Collaboration Conference

Cultivating Comunidad is a two-day research collaboration conference bringing together over 200 participants from Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and emerging HSIs across California, Oregon, Washington, Hawai‘i, and Alaska. Designed to support research equity and institutional synergy, this event highlights cross-campus innovation, inclusive faculty development, and funding opportunities.
This event gathers faculty members, research administrators, institutional leaders, and policy advocates to foster inclusive, equity-driven research. Through presentations, small-group sessions, and one-on-one opportunities with agency representatives, attendees will explore how HSIs can strengthen their collective impact across campuses and communities. This event is open to all UCSB faculty and staff—we encourage you to join!
As part of this effort, the conference aligns with the work of CREDITS (Center for Research, Excellence and Diversity in Team Scholarship), an integrated research and training initiative aimed at increasing collective intelligence, collaboration, and excellence in Team Scholarship (TS).
